Aviko invests in Chinese fries factory
Aviko has acquired a majority interest in a fries factory in the north-east of China. An agreement to this effect was recently reached with Snow Valley Agriculture, the current owner of the factory. The move ties in with Aviko’s ambition to capitalise on the opportunities for further growth offered by the Chinese market.

Aviko completes acquisition of Majority share Amberger
On March 24th Aviko has finalized the acquisition of the majority share in the Bavarian family business Amberger. Aviko thus invests in further improving its position in the German and Austrian Foodservice market.

Cosun posts excellent 2013 results
Royal Cosun achieved an excellent financial result for 2013. Almost all business groups reported higher turnover. This was due to higher selling prices, organic growth and a number of smaller acquisitions. Group turnover passed the €2 billion mark for the first time in 2013.

Potato crop update
At the end of last year, we had just started processing potatoes out of farmer's storages. To refresh your memory, during crop season 2012-2013 the price of potatoes rose due to crop failure in the UK and Belgium. The resulting demand for fresh potatoes dominated the market and as a result drove up prices.
